BASE METAL DESIGN

How did it all begin?

 

My passion for woodworking and metal fabrication started in the backyard of my college house rental, years after my woodworking and welding classes in high school. I would bundle up, grab my tools, and set outdoors where it was often raining at the place I call home, the great Pacific North West. The roughly eight by three foot overhang over my porch kept me (relatively) dry and I would set off on my next ambitious design. The first of which being an oak jewelry box / picture frame hybrid that I made for my then girlfriend, now wife, for her 20th birthday. What began as a hobby has now turned into an obsession, trying to figure out the limits of my creativity, metal fabrication, and woodworking skills.
